Terms of Use

Service provider
MedGuesser is operated by Boris Stöckle, a private individual, at Tűzoltó utca 37-47, 1094 Budapest, Hungary, contactable at contact@medguesser.com. MedGuesser is a personal project and is not a registered business, so there is no company registration or tax number to give.
By using this site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.
Educational purpose only, not medical advice
MedGuesser is a teaching game. The cases are constructed for education and are not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment guidance. Nothing on this site may be relied upon to make any decision about the care of a real patient, or about your own health.
Patients are fictional. Clinical details, laboratory values and management options are simplified to make a teachable scenario and do not represent a complete or current standard of care. Guidelines differ between countries and change over time. Always consult current local protocols and a qualified clinician.
If you have a health concern, contact a doctor. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
Accuracy
We take care over clinical content, but make no warranty that it is accurate, complete or up to date. Medical knowledge changes, and errors are possible. If you spot something wrong, please tell us at contact@medguesser.com.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the site unlawfully or in a way that disrupts it for others;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its infrastructure or any connected system;
- scrape, bulk-download or systematically extract the case content, or reproduce it commercially without permission;
- misrepresent the content as clinical guidance or as endorsed by any institution.
Intellectual property
The case text, explanations, layout and design of MedGuesser belong to the operator and may not be reproduced or redistributed without permission. You may use the site freely for personal study and teaching.
Some clinical images are reproduced from third-party sources and remain the property of their respective copyright holders; they are used here for educational purposes. Attribution is retained where the source is known. If you hold rights in an image used on this site and object to its use, contact contact@medguesser.com and it will be removed promptly.
Availability and features
The site is provided free of charge and on an “as is” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it at any time.
Accounts, saved statistics and friends are working features, and the data they involve is described in the Privacy Policy. The practice-by-speciality entries in the menu are marked “coming soon” and do not do anything yet.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of, or reliance on, this site or its content. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded: including any mandatory consumer rights you have under Hungarian or EU law.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Hungarian law. Mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country in which you are resident continue to apply where relevant.
Consumers in the European Union may also use the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
Changes
We may revise these terms as the site develops. The date at the top of this page reflects the current version.
